EHS Audit Protocol – Colombia
Description
The Republic of Colombia (Colombia) Audit Protocols for environmental, health and safety (EH&S) are organized around nineteen topics, with a separate module devoted to each. Record-keeping is a separate module in this Colombian protocol.
Each Colombian audit protocol module begins with a summary description of the various regulations covered and is followed by the body of the protocol, containing a series of audit questions relating to the applicable legislation.
A unique feature, Audit Quick Check (AQC), allows for recording of audit findings and five different sort options to facilitate reporting.
These audit protocols have been prepared to reflect the principal EH&S legislation that applies to manufacturing facilities located in Colombia.
Regulating bodies for Colombia include, for environmental issues, the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development which was created by Law 99 of 1993 and was granted additional tasks and responsibilities by Law 790 of 2002. For Health and Safety issues, there are several central government authorities involved in administering matters involving occupational health and workplace safety, including the Ministry of Social Protection.
The extensive listing of the Colombian legislation, including the specific and comprehensive itemization of individual amendments of each, are listed in Appendix 1of the Introduction to Colombian audit protocols.
